AC Shadows Introduces Bizarre AoT Collaboration for Holiday Season

In a bizarre partnership that defies traditional predictions, the game developer has unveiled an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Mission Revealed

According to the authorized announcement, "A mysterious encounter leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of prohibited practices and monstrous metamorphoses echo through the darkness." The storyline features a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a hidden cult.

The adventure concentrates on "bizarre tests and a monstrous adversary" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Familiar Settings and Changes

The teaser showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser ends with a powerful moment showing a character, presumably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Rewards and Bonus Features

Players who successfully complete the quest will obtain an unique katana alongside multiple objects concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Mikasa costume for Naoe

Latest Free Story Content

This patch also adds the game's latest no-cost story content, titled "The Mystery." This humorous quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic techniques: Naoe introduces a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.

This represents hardly the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with well-known anime franchises. The series previously included a 2020 collaborative story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
